The Transition classroom is a continuation of the dynamic Primary Montessori environment. The classroom is not a static environment, but one that expands as the child develops. The environment offers the child continuous opportunities to expand their widening base of knowledge while strengthening their ability with the now familiar Montessori didactic material. Once again different areas are utilized to highlight specific aspects of the Montessori curriculum. As the year unfolds the child begins to focus on the completion of a daily “work cycle” (expectations) including work that is completed at home (“homework”) all in preparation for the next level within the Montessori environment.
