THINGS TO REMEMBER

PARENTS ROLE

Parents, students, and teachers are all an essential part of the total school. Making a commitment to be involved as much as possible in your child's school via volunteer hours or participating in school functions benefits not only your child, but also the school community. Each family is highly encouraged to be involved as much a possible.

Parent Participation Program
This program has been developed to provide parents with the opportunity to help the school in ways that will improve the quality of education, without increasing the monetary outlay of the school. This program ensures a more equitable distribution of school support and increases the overall parent involvement in school activities and your child's education. The program provides opportunities for parents to set good examples of church and community involvement plus enjoy being members of our "school family" and these are just a few of the additional benefits. All families are required to "log" their parent participation hours on a form obtainable in the school office.

School Fundraising Activities
The tuition fees only cover a percentage of the total cost of educating your
child(ren). Our fundraisers supplement the tuition fees by providing the monies needed to operate our school and help support our enrichment programs. Old Mission Montessori School is dependent on our "Christmas-In-July" fund-raiser. "Christmas-in-July" is an arts and craft faire sponsored and hosted by the parents of Old Mission Montessori School. All proceeds from this fund-raiser go directly to the operating costs of Old Mission Montessori School. It is through the active involvement of all the families at our school that we are able to host such a tremendous event. Each family is required (per tuition agreement) to contribute 16 hours during our "Christmas -In- July" fund-raiser held the second weekend of July following their child's year of attendance at the school. This commitment also includes the sale of raffle tickets and the contribution of "home-baked" goods. Participation in any other fund-raising activity during the school year is voluntary. It is essential to point out, however, that these activities are important in providing extra funds for our school programs.
