Program Goals
The general goal of a Montessori school is to guide the child’s growth toward autonomy,
i.e. the power to govern one self.
Specific goals and objectives for a child on the Primary/Transition side are:
- An awareness of a loving God and an appreciation of God’s gifts.
- The ability to function as independently as possible at home and at school.
- The development / refinement of their senses.
- Self control in social settings.
- Academic preparedness.
- To reach their fullest potential in all areas.
- To foster an excitement and love of learning.
Specific goals and objectives for a child on the Elementary side are:
- An understanding and appreciation for basic Catholic principles.
- Growth in precisely identified intellectual, social, and physical skills.
- Enhancement of one’s emotional well being. An awareness of one’s own
feelings and the feelings of others. The promotion of a positive self esteem.
- Fostering an attitude of responsibility to others.
- The ability to find meaning in knowledge.
