Please remember all students are expected to adhere to our Uniform Policy. If you are uncertain about the policy, please ask and the office would be happy to provide you with a copy of the guidelines. Free Dress or non-uniform days are a privilege extended to those who adhere to the requirements; faculty and staff have noted that some students are “forgetting” what is within the OMMS UNIFORM POLICY Guidelines and have asked that parents assist their child by reviewing these guidelines. REMEMBER when the weather is colder than normal students are permitted to wear their winter jackets (not necessarily navy blue); when conditions are normal their sweaters, jackets, etc. are navy blue. Nail polish and make-up are not permitted. Thank you in advance for your
assistance.

Thank you to the Student Council members who decorated the McKeon Center. Thank you to all the parents who donated to our Refreshment Booth.  Thank you to Gianna Acosta who designed the dance flyer. As you can see, it takes a village to put on a Middle School Dance. Miss Susan

January’s $mart Money Tip:  Do your kids think money grows on trees?  Take them with you on your next trip to the grocery store and let them add up items on a calculator as they go into the cart.  They’ll see that things actually cost money and don’t just show up for free at your house.  They’ll also learn that you’ve got to have enough money in your account to cover expenses.

Mission Federal Credit Union will have representatives available on Thursday morning at drop off (inside in the front office) if any of our students would like to open a new student savings account or would like to make a deposit. Happy saving!

This Friday, January 11, the students will be able to participate in another “Free Dress Day”.   During these days students are expected to dress appropriately for school, this means they may choose their clothing, but they must choose wisely, please remember they are attending school (parents please assist your child if necessary).  In the past we have asked the students toprovide a can of food, which is then given to those who are less fortunate, but it is not mandatory; it is a gesture to encourage thinking of others and not payment for free dress.  FreeDress days are earned through adhering to our Uniform Policy;  if your child makes the choice not to follow the policy then their privilege is eliminated.  Hopefully this helps to clarify the request for a can of food as there was some confusion.
