Non-Discrimination Policy

Old Mission Montessori School, mindful of its mission to be a witness to the love of Christ for all, admits students of any race, color, national and/or ethnic origin, to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. Old Mission Montessori School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, nationality and/or ethnic origin, in the administration of the educational polices, scholarships, and other school administered programs.

Admission Policy

When openings are available the following will be considered:
  1. Siblings of present student(s).
  2. Registered parishioners of San Luis Rey Parish.
  3. Practicing members of the Diocesan Catholic community.
  4. Open registration.

A non-refundable registration fee is required at the time of registration. The fee is $160.00 per child.

It is mandatory for admission, that the parent, or guardian, subscribe to the school's philosophy and agree to abide by the educational policies and regulations of the school and the diocese.

Pre-Admission Interview

The administrator/director will interview the parent(s) or guardian and/or prospective student for the purposes of:
  1. Exploring the goals and motives in making application at Old Mission Montessori School.
  2. Clarifying mutual expectations.
  3. Eliciting and/or confirming those attitudes and value commitments that are essential pre-conditions for the success of the school's total program of Christian education and formation.

The administrator/director takes care to emphasize:

  1. The role of parents as primary educators, especially in the area of religious and moral education.
  2. The importance of regular family prayer and weekly participation in Sunday worship.
  3. The importance of effective parental support for the school's philosophy, as well as for its rules and regulations.
  4. The commitment of the school and the diocese to foster racial equality.
  5. The financial and service obligations incurred by parent(s) or guardian(s) enrolling students in the school.
