The school was established in 1976, on the grounds of beautiful Mission San Luis Rey Parish in Oceanside, California, to provide a Catholic-Montessori education for children of varied social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds. Our school provides a nurturing learning environment which encourages independence and creativity.

Old Mission Montessori School promotes the appreciation for human differences and helps children become effective decision makers.

OMMS is a carefully prepared learning environment which exposes the children to materials and experiences, developing intellectual and physical abilities, while promoting the spiritual and psychological growth of the child.
